Burgas Regional Governor Maria Neykova has conferred a badge of honour on the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA). The honour was presented to the Agency’s Director General Kiril Valchev at the BTA National Press Club in Burgas on Friday.
According to the order on the conferral, the news agency received the badge of honour for manifesting rigorous professionalism and making an exceptional contribution to safeguarding real news and reporting it in a timely fashion and for fine interaction with the Burgas Regional Administration.
Neykova pointed out that BTA was honoured for its proper operation and for providing up-to-date and truthful information.
The Regional Governor added that the conferral also marked the 125th anniversary of BTA and Valchev’s 50th birthday earlier this year. In her words, the badge is a toekn of appreciation for the fine performance of the Agency’s local team.
For his part, the Director General handed Neykova a silver plaquette and a postage stamp commemorating the Agency’s 125th anniversary, as well as the latest issue of the LIK magazine titled “To Antarctica and Back under a Bulgarian Flag”.
